Major redevelopment in coming soon to Dundrum. The massive Central Mental Hospital site will be developed by the Land Development Agency as soon as it is vacated. Dundrum Village, including the old shopping centre will also be re-developed. The Local Area Plan represents an opportunity to get civic and community concerns on the agenda.
Holy Cross Safe Routes to School ‘School Zone’
DLR Council has published the Post Public Consultation Report on the proposed School Zone at Holy Cross National School on Kilmacud Road, close to Dundrum Village. The survey showed that 94% of pupils’ parents support works at the front of school to improve student safety and pedestrians and cyclists generally.

The busconnects proposals drew heavily on data concerned with employment, but often those most reliant on buses are not in employment, but are retired, attending education, or seeking dependable routes to hospitals or other types of care.
