I have supported the Dundrum Housing Action campaign to keep the Central Mental Hospital site in public ownership, and to use if for universal social housing and other public amenities. This large site is well placed to meet a mixed tenure model, including mixed income families, seniors, and students.
I support the principle that public land should be retained in public ownership, and this should apply to other sites in the county area, such as the Central Bank site.
Consideration could also be given to providing public green space at the Friarsland end of the site, with pedestrian access from Our Lady’s Grove schools.
